Run-Ins with the Local Law Enforcement

Whenever we stopped to talk with police personnel we were invited in for tea .. the civilian police and para-military Jandarma personnel were always hospitable. Butch says that contrary to the dark propaganda spread in a movie on the treatment of a drug smuggler, such courtesy is the norm in Turkey.
